Google Adds New Robots Tag Indexifembedded

The search giant Google has launched a new robots tag to help developers determine whether or not an indexed web page should be crawled by the robot, as well as avoid any unpleasant situations. With this step, Google aims to improve the robot’s indexation and create an easier way for developers to specify robots directives for their HTML pages.

The google Indexifembedded robots tag enables developers to specify whether a web page should be indexed. If you want your HTML page not to be indexed, then use the noindex attribute in the tag, which will prevent Google from crawling this page.

In addition, if you do not wish any particular part of your web pages to be accessible by the Google robot , add the following directive to your HTML page, “robots noindex href=”http://”www.example.com/path/to/page/”

This tag is also very useful for web pages that are created dynamically or personalized with user data, as it will allow the administrator to inform Google about these changes before the search engine finds them on his own.

To enable the tag, it is important to make sure that your Google Search Console profile is verified. Access the console , click “add a property” menu and choose the appropriate options, then complete all of the steps in this process to fully verify your website.

Once you have enabled verification for one or more web pages, go to their dashboard and select the robots option on the left menu (it will be at the bottom).

Google will automatically crawl your page to see if it contains any robots directives. If not, then add the tag to your HTML page and select “submit for indexing” in order to allow Google robots to access this specific webpage.

  • The page contains at least one iframe that is served from the same domain, and
  • The URL of the iframe’s src attribute can be successfully resolved by a DNS CNAME lookup, and

Why use indexifembedded meta tag?

There are several reasons to use the indexifembedded tag.

First, it helps you control how your content is indexed—for pages that are generated dynamically or personalized for logged-in users, you can exclude them from being indexed by Google.

Second, embedded content not hosted on the same domain as the page containing the robots directive may be subject to less strict canonicalization. Third, this tag will allow Google to render and understand your pages better.

Final thoughts

Google continues to improve the user experience and make life for developers easier by adding new features like indexifembedded tag to help them control how their content is included in Google Search results.

This feature allows developers to make changes without having to wait for those changes to be indexed by Google and will improve the quality of listings in search results as well as reduce crawling errors.
